What section should I take first?

I recommend that you study for either Financial Accounting and Reporting or Auditing and Attestation first. These sections complement each other well. You could even consider studying for these parts at the same time. Here are two suggested strategies:

1. Financial (FAR), Regulation(REG), Auditing (AUD), Business Environment and Concepts (BEC)
2. AUD, BEC, FAR, REG

Most candidates will report that FAR is the most difficult section. It is basically a three semester cumulative final exam. FAR tests material from Intermediate Accounting I, II and Advanced Accounting.
Most experts agree that you should take the CPA Exam soon after college graduation. There is no question that you will forget this material if you do not use it on a regular basis. Also, college students report that they quickly lose their study skills after graduation.

My advice is to get started! Do not postpone taking the exam.

  1. Would you recommend holding on to our accounting textbooks? Do you find that students consult textbooks as an additional resource when studying for the exam?

  2. Pamela,
Since the rules and regulations change regularly, the textbooks may become out of date quickly. I held on to my textbooks for awhile, but never used them.

You will receive updated textbooks as part of our review course, so you will not need to consult your textbooks when preparing for the CPA Exam.

  3. Hi Liz,
I've seen the online sample of Bob's lecture and I love it. The picture screen is small which makes the streaming video easy, Bob's voice is very clear and his pace is just right for me.
    My question is:
    1. If I choose to take in class program would I be able to watch the online lecture for reinforcement purpose?
    2. If I choose to take the online program would I be able to watch the online lecture over and over at anytime?

    Thanks,
    Dan

  4. Dan,
You can choose either format, live instruction or online instruction. You can also do a part online, and another part using live instruction.

We do offer the online lectures to our live instruction students as make up classes.

If you choose to enroll in our online course, you would be able to view the lectures as many times as you wish during your enrollment for that section.
